What is the neighborhood like?
The Brandon is located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and it’s a great neighborhood. Lincoln Center, home of the Metropolitan Opera House, the State Theater and other NYC cultural landmarks, is only blocks away. Columbus Avenue with its many restaurants is three blocks east of here, and there is great shopping one block away on Broadway. And you’re only two blocks from the subway and bus.

May I have male visitors?
Only on the first floor, in the main sitting room. There are no male visitors allowed upstairs.

Who will my neighbors be?
Domestic and foreign students, artists, teachers and a few long-time residents.

What is security like at the Brandon?
The front desk and elevator are staffed at all times. Plus, no one enters the building without being buzzed in.

Are pets allowed?
For the comfort of all the residents, no pets are allowed.

May I have overnight visitors in my room?
You are welcome to have female guests stay overnight in your room for a $40 fee. You will need to fill out a form 24 hours in advance. For $80, your guest may have her own room.

May I bring my own furniture or other items?
Rooms are already furnished with a bed, bureau, desk and chair. You are welcome to bring your own television, computer, and anything else that fits.

May I have my own phone?
Each resident is provided with a telephone and one incoming line. To establish outgoing service, you can contact the telephone company directly.

Must I be on the meal plan?
Yes, the meal plan, including breakfast and dinner are served every day, is included in your rent. You are also welcome to use the kitchenette on the 8th floor, which has a stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave and toaster.

May I receive deliveries at the Brandon?
Yes. The front desk is staffed 24-hours a day. Someone is always available to accept your deliveries.
